Preventive measures for low temperature and chilling injury of vegetables in greenhouse

1. Indoor heating

(1) When the outside world is greatly cooled, firewood or coal can be temporarily used for burning, and the room temperature can be raised through stoves, flues and direct heat dissipation.

(2) Where conditions permit, the hot water, hot air and steam discharged from wineries, paper mills, smelters, etc. can be used as the heat source of the greenhouse.

(3) Increase the application of thermal organic fertilizers, that is, before planting vegetables, bury 5-10cm thick semi-decomposed thermal organic fertilizers (such as horses, donkeys,

sheep manure, etc.).

2. Outdoor insulation

vegetables in greenhouse

(1) Set up wind barriers around the greenhouse to reduce wind speed.

(2) Cultivate soil around the greenhouse to increase the thickness of the greenhouse wall.

(3) Dig a cold ditch around the greenhouse, fill the ditch with slag, rice husk, etc., cover the top of the ditch tightly, and keep the ditch dry.

(4) Increase the cover of the greenhouse, such as thickening grass thatch (curtain) and so on.

(5) Do a good job in the connection and caulking of various parts of the greenhouse to prevent the intrusion of cold wind.

(6) Do your best to keep the light for a longer time. If you can get sunlight, you should immediately remove the coverings such as thatch (curtain).

3. Indoor insulation

(1) Multi-layer covering methods such as plastic film covering, small arch sheds, and movable curtain surfaces can be adopted for heat preservation.

(2) Add multiple layers of grass thatch (curtain) on the inside of the large circumference, which is both windproof and heat preservation.

(3) Fluorescent lamps can be installed in the greenhouse (the distance between the lamp and the plant leaves is kept 50cm), and the light is illuminated for 10-12 hours a day.

(4) Set up an operation room at one end of the greenhouse, and hang thick curtains at the entrance and exit to prevent cold wind from invading.

(5) Cover with drip-free film,

In addition, timely foliar spraying of potassium dihydrogen phosphate, rare earth micro-fertilizer, Penshibao, etc. to crops such as vegetables in the greenhouse, as well as increasing carbon dioxide, can not only promote the increase in yield, but also significantly enhance the protection of vegetables against low temperature and chilling damage. Resistance.
