1. Timely and appropriate pruning. When pruning, it is advisable to cut off branches and leaves above three branches and weak and diseased branches and leaves, but be careful not to overdo it, so as not to reduce the fruit setting rate. The pruning time should be selected from 8 to 9 am on a sunny day to ensure that the wound can heal within the same day and reduce the invasion of germs.
Second, strengthen cultivation management. Within half a month after pruning, it is a critical period for the growth and development of new branches, new leaves and flower buds, and water and fertilizer management must be done in a timely manner. Generally, 3000 to 4000 kg of human excrement and urine are applied per mu, 25 to 30 kg of cake fertilizer, and 12 to 13 kg of compound fertilizer (or 10 kg of urea). In case of drought after application, it should be watered in time, and the soil should be cultivated to mulch the roots. Spray phytobiotics once a week after pruning to promote rapid growth of new branches. After pruning, due to sufficient fertilizer, many new branches will grow again, so pruning should be done in due course.
3. Timely film covering and heat preservation. The regenerated pepper begins to set fruit around mid-September, and enters the full fruit period in October. After the "cold dew", the temperature gradually drops. In addition to timely harvesting and listing, plastic sheds should be covered in time to increase the temperature before frost. From the first ten days of November, a small shed should be erected in the greenhouse to prevent cold and heat preservation. If red peppers are harvested before the Spring Festival, they should be covered with grass curtains at night from mid-November to keep warm, and if possible, antifreeze can be sprayed on the leaves.
