Precautions

1. The growth medium should be fully moistened before filling. Generally, 60% of the water content is the best. Hold the matrix with your hands. If there is no water to squeeze out, it will clump together if you let go, but the matrix will fall apart with just a light touch. If the substrate is too dry, it will collapse after subsequent watering, resulting in poor ventilation and poor root development.
2. The filling degree of each hole must be uniform, otherwise the holes with less base material will dry faster, resulting in unbalanced moisture management;
3. The hole substrate for sowing large seeds such as melons should not be too full;
4. Avoid squeezing the substrate, otherwise it will affect the air permeability and drying speed of the substrate, and because the substrate is too tight, the seeds will rebound, causing the seeds to germinate at different depths.

Working Process:

Nutrient solution is pumped from a reservoir beneath the growing table until the water level reaches the desired level. The nutrients then slowly flow back into the nutrient reservoir. When the plants are submerged from below, the water pushes oxygen-poor air out of the top of the barrel.
